Who We Are
Edusort is a social enterprise focused on Teachers’ training (in STEM, Pedagogy, and Teacher Leadership), towards the realization of learners’ holistic development. Founded in August 2019, Edusort seeks to equip primary school teachers in under-resourced communities with the right STEM skills required to make a dramatic academic and non-academic improvement in pupils that will allow them to actualise their potential.
At Edusort we prepare the next generation of global leaders with 21st-century skills through our STEM enrichment courses that promote creativity and innovation, on one collaboration between students around the world.
OUR THEORY OF CHANGE
Edusort believes that the education system needs a workforce of determined and committed teachers with strong STEM orientation to canvas and act for excellence in the education standards of Nigeria. We are convinced that by preparing and equipping teachers in primary schools to take responsibility for producing impact in high-need schools, accelerated change is inevitable.
These well-trained teachers, who are directly in touch with pupils, will drive the desired academic impacts in pupils, especially in the areas of STEM-based subjects. Throughout the period they teach these pupils, the teachers will continue to implement the learning takeaways to improve pupils’ academic achievement, attitudes and aspirations that unlock opportunities in higher education, careers, and their personal lives.
Edusort’s audacious vision is based on the notion that by utilizing educators who might not have previously considered a career in education or teaching and immersing them in rigorous training, mentorship, and support in STEM fields, they will become effective educators, school administrators, and well-rounded leaders who will train pupils who will break the boundaries of learning in schools, unlocking their potential to be employable in a technologically driven society.
